Bihar Board 10th Result 2020: The wait of Bihar Board 10th result 2020 will finally be over in just few hours. Around 15 lakh candidates have been anxiously waiting for their BSEB matric results for last one week. Bihar School Examination Board had on Monday released a press note to announce that the matric results will be declared on Tuesday, May 26 at 12:30 pm. The Bihar Board class 10th results will be available online at biharboardonline.com and onlinebseb.in. Candidates can visit either of these websites to check their matric results.

Unlike every year, BSEB will not hold any press conference to announce the results this year in view of maintaining social distancing. Hence, the students will not be able to watch the result declaration live on TV. However, they can read the BSEB liveblog on HT from 8 am onwards that will be regularly updated.Candidates can also register for the result alert on our HT result portal to get the alert SMS as soon as the result is declared. Moreover, the board informed that this year the education minister of Bihar, Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma will announce the Bihar Board 10th results 2020 in presence of RK Mahajan, additional chief secretary, education department Bihar.

BSEB chairman Anand Kishor had earlier announced that the board has planned to declare the matric and intermediate results in the last week of March or in the first week of April. BSEB had declared the intermediate results on March 24. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak the Bihar matric result was delayed. Although the examination was concluded on February 24, the evaluation process was left midway due to the coronavirus lockdown. The evaluation resumed on May 6 and ended on May 17 after which the marks of all candidates were compiled and fed in the computer. The topper list was prepared by the board and a panel of subject experts were constituted to re-examine the papers of top 10 rank holders and conduct an interview to verify the genuineness of the toppers.

This year, over 15 lakh students had taken the Bihar Board class 10th exams that were conducted from February 17 to 24 across 13868 centres in the state. A total of 15, 29,393 students have registered for the examination. Out of which, 7, 83,034 students are female, and 7, 46,359 are male. In the first shift of the exam, 7, 74,415 students, and in the second shift, 7, 54,978 students had appeared for the exam.

This year the board had adopted various new measures to eradicate the use of any unfair means in the board examinations. For the first time ever, the board had introduced a pre- printed answer books and OMR sheets that had the name and photo of the candidates printed on them to avoid impersonation. Out of the total of 100 questions, the question paper had 60 objective type questions out of which students had to attempt any 50.

MPBSE allows students to change exam centre, check details - education

Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education on Sunday released a notification on the online applications to change exam centres on its official website. The decision has been made after the board received information that several students have been shifted to other places than their place of residence due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

The board has scheduled the class 12 board exam for remaining papers from June 9, 2020.

The application to change exam centres will be available from May 25 to 28 on MP Online Kiosk, MP Board official website, and Board’s mobile app.

As per the notice, students can also change the exam centre through the DEO office, coordinating offices, and divisional board offices. However, students must note that the new examination centres will only be allotted if they change the district. So change of centre will not be allowed in the same district.

Sena slams Maharashtra Governor over stand on university exams - education

The ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra on Monday hit out at Governor B S Koshyari for being in favour of conducting final year university exams in the state, and said health of students cannot be put at risk amid the COVID-19 crisis.

An editorial in Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ said when the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has already opposed holding exams in Gujarat and Goa in the current scenario, why is Koshyari’s demand in contrast to it.

“Is it because the RSS-backed BJP is not in power in Maharashtra?” the Marathi daily asked.

Koshyari, who is the chancellor of universities in Maharashtra, last week asked Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to resolve the issue of conduct of final year university exams in the state “without any further delay in the larger interest of students”.

In a letter to CM, Koshyari said “not conducting the final year examinations by universities amounts to breach of the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines”.

The governor also took strong objection to a letter written by state Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant to UGC, recommending cancellation of final year exams.

Koshyari asked Thackeray to issue suitable instructions to Samant for his “unwarranted intervention”.

Defending Samant, the Sena said the minister had expressed his opinion about the examinations, but Koshyaris stand is to go ahead and conduct the exams.

“The RSS-backed students’ wing ABVP has already opposed holding exams in the current period in Gujarat and Goa. Then, why Koshyaris demand is in stark contract with ABVP. Is it because the RSS-backed BJP is not in power in Maharashtra?” the Uddhav Thackeray-led party wondered.

These examinations are important for the future of 10 lakh students in the state, but it cannot be held by jeopardising their health, it said.

“When almost all institutions are stretched to limits, how can the governor expect universities to overcome the challenges (of COVID-19) and hold exams?” it asked.

The governors concerns are genuine, but when students have returned home even from abroad, how can he expect exams to be held here for students of local universities, the Marathi publication said.

Major cities of the state like Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, where headquarters of prominent universities are located, are still under the grip of COVID-19, it noted.

“There is no point in pushing the demand for conducting exams at such a time,” it added.

The Sena had earlier also criticised Koshyari when he did not act on the Maharashtra Cabinet’s recommendation in April to nominate Uddhav Thackeray as member of the state Legislative Council from the governor’s quota.

Thackeray was eventually elected unopposed to the Upper House earlier this month.

LSAT India registration date extended to June 7, check details - education

The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) on Monday announced the extension of registration for the new online LSAT India exam. Students who wish to take the online LSAT India can apply on or before June 7, 2020.

The online LSAT India will be administered on several days starting from June 14, using an online test delivery system with artificial intelligence-assisted remote proctoring to ensure the integrity and validity of the test.

After the registration, all applicants will receive communication and a mock practice test to help them be prepared for the online delivery format.

LSAT India is a single test for admission to 12 different Indian law schools.

Ahmedabad University starts admissions based on class 10, 11 scores - education

Ahmedabad University on Monday said it has started admissions to undergraduate programmes based on Class 10 and Class 11 scores, while students await their Class 12 results which are delayed due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Admissions to the institute’s graduate and PhD programmes for the session of 2020 are also underway, the university said.

“Our Class 12 students should not be worried at all about the next phase of their education at the University. We are committed to supporting students and ensuring that they do not lose an academic year as they leave school,” Ahmedabad University Vice-Chancellor, Pankaj Chandra, said in a statement.

“Our holistic admissions process is geared to understanding students and their context beyond marks. While high school scores are an important indicator of potential, our focus is on using different ways to bring to light the many ways in which young people can contribute and bring value to themselves and the larger community,” Chandra said.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, Indian universities are now evaluating carefully how they can best support students who hope to enter the college this year.

“These are challenging times. We need to relook at how we engage with young minds differently and prepare them for a changed world. In this digitized environment, the onus is to constantly reimagine and innovate teaching methods, as we embrace a new world, post-Covid,” said Chandra, adding that Ahmedabad University was one of the first to take the plunge into online classroom education in the first week of lockdown.

Assam Police Recruitment 2020: 1081 vacancies notified, application begins today - education

State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam on Sunday released an official notification regarding the recruitment of Forest Guard, Forester, Driver, and others on its official website.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the posts online at slprbassam.in from May 25, 2020, onwards. The online application link will be activated from 4 PM onwards. Applicants can apply for the positions on or before June 25, 2020.

The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 1081 Vacancies for Forest Guard, Forester, Driver and other posts. Out of which, 812 vacancies are for Forest Guard, 144 for Forester 1, 50 for Driver, 35 for Surveyor, 28 for Mahut, 11 for Stenographer Grade 3, and one for Carpenter.

Candidate should not be more than 38 years and less than 21 years of age as on January 1, 2020.

CBSE to hold class 10, 12 exams in 15,000 centres - education

The pending class 10 and 12 board exams will be conducted by CBSE at 15,000 centres across the country instead of 3,000 centres planned earlier, Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said on Monday.

The exams, which were postponed due to a nationwide lockdown imposed on March 25 to contain the spread of COVID-19, will now be held from July 1 to 15. “The class 10, 12 exams will now be conducted at over 15,000 exam centres across India. Earlier, CBSE was slated to hold exams at only 3,000 centres,” Nishank said.

The decision has been taken to ensure social distancing at exam centres and minimise travel for students.

The HRD ministry has already announced that students will appear for exams at schools in which they are enrolled rather than external examination centres. According to home ministry guidelines, there will be no exam centre in COVID-19 containment zones and states will be responsible for making transport arrangements for students to reach their respective centres.

Usually, board examinations are held at designated test centres to ensure minimum bias from schools and enable independent external invigilators to monitor the examination process.

The decision also means that the CBSE may have to mobilise greater number of invigilators and staff members. While Class 12 exams will be conducted across the country, the Class 10 exams are only pending in North East Delhi, where they could not be held due to the law-and-order situation in the wake of protests against the amended citizenship act.
