Incumbent should understand complex and critical business problems of US Managed care market and can formulate integrated analytical approach to mine data sources, employ statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to discover actionable insights and automate process for reducing effort and time for repeated use. High agility to be able to work across various business domains (commercial LS, PBM, Payer and provider), with the ability to use business presentations, smart visualization tools and contextual story-telling to translate findings back to business users with a clear impact. Direct team management and innovation responsibility.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work on a variety of business applications including but not limited to
Build and drive business solutions using claims and E-HR data to run Patient Journey, manage Marked Analytics, Value-Based contracting, Event Prediction, Propensity Modelling, Churn Modelling, Customer Lifetime Value Estimation, Forecasting, Marketing Mix Optimization, Price Optimization, KOL identification and Co-pay analysis
Collaborate with globally dispersed internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems and deliver successfully on high visibility strategic initiatives
Understand life science data sources including sales, contracting, promotions, social media, patient claims and Real World Evidence
Articulate solutions/recommendations to business users
Works with senior leaders in Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses, to present analytical content concisely and effectively
Independently identify research articles and reproduce or apply methodology to Optum/UHG business problems
Bring though leadership to stakeholders and keep himself appraises of ongoing technology and analytical advancement
Required Qualifications:
Masters in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics; can also consider Ops Research, Econometrics) or B.Tech MBA from tier A college
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Data Science or business analytics with a minimum of 8 years in US healthcare and pharma
Extensive experience in Statistical and Machine Learning techniques such as Regression (Linear/Logit/Gamma), Decision Trees, Text Mining and Natural Language Processing, Stochastic models, Bayesian Models, Markov Chains, Monte Carlo Simulations, Non-linear Time Series, Dynamic Programming and Optimization techniques, Design of Experiments, Neural Networks, Statistical Inference, Collaborative Filtering, Feature Engineering, etc.
Prior experience of working in US or for US clients in the space of RWE, HEOR and managed market analytics
Hands-on experience of claims and E-HR of Optum in prior or current organization
Experience of building technology solution for RWE, HEOR and Managed market platform
Demonstrated use of analytical packages and query languages such as SAS, R, SQL, Python
